BRS Ultralight Aluminum Non-Stick Camping Fry Pan with Folding Handle is built for hikers, backpackers, and campers who refuse to eat dehydrated meals. Light enough for a multi-day trek. Compact enough to fit in any pack. Non-stick surface means easy cooking and cleanup – no scrubbing with sand. Folding handle locks in place for use, folds flat for storage.
🏕️ Why Ultralight Camping Cookware Matters
Every gram counts when you're hiking. Standard cast iron or stainless steel pans weigh 2-3 pounds – that's space and weight you can't spare. The BRS camping fry pan is made from lightweight aluminum. It's sturdy enough for eggs, bacon, fish, and veggies – but weighs a fraction of traditional cookware. The folding handle saves pack space. The non-stick coating means you don't need to carry extra oil or cleaning supplies.
✨ Key Features – Designed for the Trail
Weighs significantly less than steel or cast iron. Carry it for miles without noticing.
Cook eggs, pancakes, fish – they slide right off. Clean with a dab of water and a cloth. No soap needed on trail.
Handle locks open for cooking. Folds flat against the pan for packing. Saves space in your backpack.
Works on backpacking stoves (MSR, Jetboil, Pocket Rocket, etc.), campfires, and portable gas stoves.
🥾 What Can You Cook on the Trail?
- Breakfast – Eggs, bacon, pancakes, hash browns, breakfast burritos
- Lunch/Dinner – Fried fish (caught fresh!), seared chicken, veggies, quesadillas, grilled cheese
- One-Pot Meals – Rice and beans, pasta with sauce, stir-fry (works as a shallow sauté pan)
- Trail Treats – Rehydrated meals finished in the pan, campfire nachos, toasted sandwiches
⛺ Who Is This Pan For?
Need every gram to count. Ultralight design + folding handle = perfect.
Want real cooking without heavy cast iron. Packs small, cooks great.
Waterproof, compact, non-rust. Perfect for cooking fresh catch on shore.
Limited storage space. Folding handle and non-stick make kitchen cleanup easy.
📐 How to Use & Care for Camping Non-Stick
- Unfold handle – Pull the handle away from the pan until it clicks/locks into position.
- Add a thin layer of oil – Even with non-stick, a little oil improves cooking and protects the coating.
- Cook over medium heat – Avoid high heat (damages non-stick). Camp stoves on low-medium are perfect.
- Clean gently – Wipe with paper towel or cloth. Use a dab of biodegradable soap if needed. No metal scouring pads.
- Fold handle – Release the lock, fold handle flat against the pan. Pack away.

⚠️ Important – Non-Stick Care for Camping
Non-stick coatings are durable but need care:
- ❌ Don't use metal utensils – Use wood, silicone, or plastic. Metal scratches non-stick.
- ❌ Don't heat empty – Always add oil or food before heating.
- ❌ Don't put directly on campfire coals – Use a stove or place over low flame only. High heat destroys non-stick.
- ✅ Do clean with soft materials – Cloth, sponge, or biodegradable wipes. No steel wool.
❓ Quick Questions
How much does this actually weigh?
Exact weight depends on size, but typically 150-250 grams (5-9 ounces). Compare to a standard steel pan (800g+) or cast iron (1.5kg+). You'll feel the difference on the trail.
Will the non-stick coating last?
With proper care (no metal utensils, no high heat), yes. For occasional camping use, it lasts years. For thru-hikers (daily use for months), expect normal wear.
Does the handle get hot?
The metal handle can get warm. Use a glove or wrap with a bandana. The folding mechanism is designed for grip but not full heat insulation.
Is this safe for the environment?
Use biodegradable soap for cleaning. Dispose of grey water properly (away from water sources). The pan itself is reusable for years – less waste than disposable cookware.
Does it work on an MSR PocketRocket or Jetboil?
Yes – the flat bottom works on most backpacking stoves. Pan diameter is matched to typical stove burner size. For Jetboil, check that the pan isn't too wide for your support arms.

It's bigger, thicker, heavier, and sturdier than I thought.
The size seems to be able to hold about 3 to 4 ramen bowls.
There is a strong smell coming from the bag.
It's a bit dirty on the pot too, but I'll assume it was scratched from the bag.
It is of high quality. Please place your orders...
The coating is good, and the handle that I was worried about has a lock mechanism so it's sturdy.
